Ecostore USA Review & Giveaway (Cleaning and Living Greener!)

ecostore-usa_03For the past few weeks, I traded in my bar soap, my household cleaner and even my dishwasher detergent for some green, more eco-friendly products; and let me tell you, I couldn’t be more pleased.

Ecostore.com will be coming to Meijer stores in the Midwest this spring and while I don’t have a Meijer store near me, I know many people do and having more green products to choose from is sure to make a difference for a lot of families.

ecostore USA (www.ecostore USA.com) loves making a difference in people’s lives. We are passionate about improving the planet and bringing you everyday household products that are safer and healthier for you and your family. Originating in 1993 as a New Zealand-based manufacturer, wholesale distributor and retailer of sustainable household and personal care products, ecostore USA offers plant-based cleaning products as well as body and baby care products. The guiding principle of our formulations is that the end product must not only be good for the planet, but must also be good for the user. Individual health issues are at the forefront of product development. The Fairground Foundation is a charitable organization created by ecostore to promote sustainability through on-the-ground action.

ecostore USA has formulated its products without toxic petrochemicals, phosphates, nitrates, chlorine, ammonia, enzymes, synthetic perfumes, coloring or dyes, optical whiteners/brighteners or chemical preservatives. Instead, ecostore USA uses sustainable ingredients derived from plants and minerals, producing safer products that work equally as effectively as those that are chemical-based. Customers anecdotally have reported that, after using ecostore USA laundry products to wash clothes and linens, children’s eczema and dermatitis have disappeared, while allergies and asthma symptoms have decreased.
ecostore USA guarantees its products:
• are plant- and/or mineral-based and free of nasty chemicals (No Nasty ChemicalsTM)
• use safer ingredients from renewable resources • are formulated with your health in mind
• are safely super-concentrated
• meet the highest environmental standards
• have not been tested on animals
• are GE free (free of genetically-engineered products)
• are packaged in recyclable packaging

The great people at Ecostoreusa.com were kind enough to let me choose the three products I’d most like to review. It took me awhile to decide because there were a number of products I’d like to try.

I finally decided on the Auto Dish Powder, the Lemongrass Soap, and the Citrus Spray Cleaner as I thought these would work the best for my family right now, that and this was the first time I’d really TRIED an eco-friendly product so I was skeptical. Can they really be as good as my regular cleaning and health care products?

The resounding answer to that was Yes!

While I loved all the products I selected, the Auto Dish Powder was my favorite. We live in a rural area and so we have well water and therefore we deal with hard water. I had all but given up on using my dishwasher. No dishwasher detergent has been able to get the dishes clean enough without residue left behind from the detergernt and the hard water has left me feeling irritated and frustrated with my dishwasher. I figured that it would perform just like other brands and I’d be back to dishpan hands in no time. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

I ran the dishwasher on empty first with only the Auto Dish Powder and when I opened the dishwasher after a normal cycle, I almost fell over. I know I cried. The Ecostore USA dish powder actually cleaned out my dishwasher. It had been ages since it looked so good inside.  Still skeptical I ran a load of dishes to see what happened.

No residue, no film, and no bits of food. Everything washed and rinsed clean – I can safely stop washing dishes by hand!

The Lemongrass soap held up to my gang of dirty kids. It has a pleasant scent that isn’t overpowering and my daughter has taken to using it all! It was defnitely a hit with the hubs too.

As for the Citrus Spray Cleaner; because I hate to clean, each of my kids have chores and one of those is cleaning the bathroom. So I am always looking for cleaning products that are safe for the kids to use when they are wiping down counters, faucets, sinks and mirrors. I don’t want anything with overpowering scents or anything that’s harmful or contains harsh chemicals. The Citrus Spray Cleaner has been an answer to my prayers and the bathroom looks great!

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m no domestic diva and I’d rather spend my money on anything but cleaning supplies, but I’ve enjoyed using these products. It’s wonderful to pay for the actual product and not the packaging. I also love that the box that everything came in was made from recycled packaging materials, and the containers themselves are recyclable and made from recycled materials as well.

I’m very thrilled that my first encounter with true eco-friendly products has been such a success, I’m so thrilled that I’m offering you the chance to win some Ecostore USA products of your own!
